Notice to Our Patients: Incidental Disclosures

At Aveon Health, we are committed to protecting the privacy of your health information as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

While we strive to maintain strict confidentiality, there may be times when incidental disclosures of information occur. These incidental disclosures are limited in nature and are a byproduct of allowable activities, such as conversations at the front desk or in other public areas of our facility. Please note:

 What is an incidental disclosure?

An incidental disclosure happens when your information is unintentionally shared in a situation where reasonable safeguards are already in place. Examples might include calling your name in the waiting room or overhearing a brief part of a discussion related to your care.

 HIPAA Compliance

Incidental disclosures are not considered HIPAA violations, provided that we have taken reasonable measures to protect your privacy. At Aveon Health, we follow all recommended safeguards, including speaking quietly when appropriate, using privacy barriers, and limiting the amount of information disclosed.

If you have questions or concerns about how your information is handled, please feel free to speak with our office manager or review our Notice of Privacy Practices.

We value your trust and are dedicated to providing care with respect and professionalism.

Thank you for choosing Aveon Health for your healthcare needs.

Sincerely,

Aveon Health Team
